Finding the answer to this question can be the key to increasing your personal sales as well as your company sales. Many are surprised at what simple can do for their increase in production.
The first thing we will look at is what is done to complicate the sales process and why you should or should not use certain terminology. What this means is that you can describe your product or service using highly technical terms that seem very simple to you, but the customer is totally lost. An example I personally experienced was when I was buying a car the salesman was explaining how the engine was controlled by a complicated computer which he named and tried to explain the process in which it operated. He told me of the process in which it was to control all the decisions in split seconds and all that did was to confuse me and sent me home to find out what the hell he was talking about. He was very knowledgeable of his product but not of his customers.
I only needed to know it had the best computer in the auto industry and I would have been satisfied and probably purchased the car that day, but instead I went to another dealer and purchased the car from a salesman that made the sale a simple process in which I was very comfortable. I have had other situations in which I left totally confused about electronic items. Many have walked into a electronic store to buy a TV and after the sales person tries to dazzle them with all the specs on the TV they leave and go to Wal-Mart and get what they intended to purchase from a specialty store.
Lets talk about these mega electronic stores, because I’m sure most have been to them and have been approached by sales people. Most have come into the store because of an advertisement of a great price on an item that they want. Let’s say they seen an ad for a 50 inch TV for $698.00 and they want that big screen today . You are approached by a sales person who says that is a great price, but the quality is not the top and then they want to show you if you spend just $300.oo more you can get this 42” that gives you 1000 pixels 70 mhz and the picture quality that is second to none. Without trying to the sales person has just told you that the advertised TV is a piece of crap and you would be stupid to purchase one. Instead they should use a simple sales technique that would show you what the difference is and let you make the decision never saying anything about quality.
The approach that successful sales people make is: I’ glad you came in today I can see that you know a bargain when you see one. Would you like to see what else is available and how the other tech stuff works to improve the TVs we have?
Most people will respond to this approach positively and then sales people can give positive reasons why this technology is different from the other. Most are going to stay with their original plan and purchase the biggest TV they can get for their money, but they will remember you and how you showed the different options and when they need something else in the electronic field they will seek you out if you are staying in touch with them.
Simple sales is really a way to make it easy for customers to do business with you the examples above can be used in any industry. It will increase your sales and with the combination of follow up you can be in the top 2% of the entire industry you are in. There are many examples of how uses people confuse customers into not purchasing so if you can take a look at what you are doing you might find that you have done a couple of these things and change your approach. Everyday many are complicating business so much that they are confusing customers and they are walking out the door and looking for someone to simplify the process so they understand and can buy with confidence.
People don’t buy complicated, but they will buy simple. Customers want to understand what they are purchasing and if you make the process simple they will do business with you. Don’t use technical terms or words that you looked up in the dictionary last night to impress customers, they do not care about how educated you are they just want simple ways to understand their purchase.
Getting to the level of understanding for customers is key to increasing your business. Now this is not saying that all customers are not educated and you need to talk down to them, but you need to be talking with them. You are the expert at your business and you can find the terms that simplify how customers will understand it.
Increase simple increase business just makes since if you think about it. I’m sure you have tried to purchase a product and just did not connect, it probably came down to that fact that whoever you were talking to was not talking with you but down to you and you just did not appreciate the treatment. Another problem might have been that the person you were talking to just did not know much about what they were talking about.
There are other problems connected with people, but if they had increased simple it would have probably increased their business. Complicated situations are what people try to avoid so you need to remember to simplify the process. Are you up to the challenge to increase simple increase business?

Being passionate about customers is what is needed in today’s market, customers deserve it and will reward any company that is willing to put customers first. Many companies out here are treating customers unfairly with fine print of such things as return policies and giving them less than the basic 30 days to return items for refunds.

If your company steps up and shows customers that you want them to have a pleasant experience with your company then they return time and time again. I would challenge you to write down any company that has contacted you on a consistent basis and made you feel that you mattered as a customer.
Full follow up customer service that is completely geared towards customers is what your company needs to be doing on a daily business. Every customer deserves your best even if they do not give you their best. Do this and even the customers that are the hardest to deal with will become your most loyal advocates for your business.
